Tuition fees are different for each faculty and vary according to each student’s ISEE (Indicatore di Situazione Economica Equivalente – page 9 of the International Students Guide). Further information including a table indicating tuition fees for the different income thresholds are available at: www.uniroma1.it/didattica/tasse
The annual tuition fee is divided into two instalments. The first instalment is due by the 23rd November and amounts to € 335 + € 118.08 (welfare services fee). The first instalment is the same for every Faculty and for every income level. The second instalment is instead due by 30th March and is variable within a range of three groups. In order to find out which fee group you fall under, you will need to calculate your ISEE.
ISEE is a figure which indicates your financial situation in a given year on the basis of your familial status, earnings, property ownership and expenses. >To calculate your ISEE you will need to go to a Tax Assistance Centre (CAF) established in Rome. For a list of centres visit:
http://www.agenziaentrate.gov.it/
You will need to provide information and documentation regarding you or your family’s annual income and assets. Documents must be relevant to the year previous to the academic year in which you wish to enrol.
Family income earned abroad:
You will need to download the form called “Modulo Redditi Stranieri” from the Sapienza website at the following address: www.uniroma1.it/studenti/tasse/isee.php
You must fill in the form with all the necessary information regarding the number of family members, each member’s annual income and property ownership expressed in Euros. This form then needs to be legalised by the Italian Embassy or Consulate in your home country.
Family income earned in Italy:
You will need to provide Income Tax Returns for all family members as well as information regarding real estate and other property ownership.
Family income earned partly in Italy and partly abroad:
For the income earned in Italy, you should provide the Income Tax Return while the income earned abroad will need to be declared and legalised by the Italian Consulate in your home country.
Nucleo Familiare Unico (Working Students)
If you live independently from your family (your residency must be separate) and you earn your own income, you should declare your ISEE solely on the basis of your own income and property holdings.
Please Note: If you declare a low ISEE, you must have it calculated and certified by a Tax Assistance Centre (CAF).
Each student will need to print their payment slip from Infostud by clicking on:
Tasse (an option along the bottom of the webpage) – Stampa bollettino (an option on the right-hand-side menu).
Fees can be paid at any of the Unicredit Banca di Roma branches using the paying slip or on-line at: https://pagamenti.bancaroma.it/ibx/web/public/universityTaxes.jsp?url=confirm&univ=sapienza&action=pag.
Student beneficiaries of LazioDisu scholarships or Italian government scholarships are exempt from payment of tuition fees and the welfare services tax. Please get in touch with the LazioDisu Office (Via Cesare de Lollis, 22, Roma- next to the main campus) or your Grant provider for details or further information.
