International Students: How to enrol.
Any information about how to enrol in Sapienza degree programmes can be provided by Hello, the International Students Welcome Centre.
Below you will find a step by step description of the enrolment procedures.
Non-EU students:
- 1. Contact the Italian Consulate in your city/ country of origin, or in the city you graduated in. You will need to make an application to study at Sapienza University through the consulate in April or May of the year you wish to begin studying in. For deadlines consult the website Study in Italy
- 2. You need to provide the Consulate with all your previous study documents and certificates which will need to be translated and legalised by competent authorities in your country. This process will provide you with a Statement of Equal Value (Dichiarazione di Valore) necessary to enrol in your chosen programme.
- 3. Register on Infostud (the University’s internal student information portal). You will be provided with a student number and account.
- 4. Book the admission test for your chosen degree programme through the Infostud portal (the tests will take place in September sometime). Some degree programmes have limited places available and the admission test will therefore determine entry into those programmes.
Steps 1- 4 can be completed overseas.
Steps 5 – 6 will need to be completed once you arrive in Italy.
- 5. Take the admission test. Once you have passed the test, you must go to the Foreign Student Office (Segreteria Studenti Stranieri) on campus.
- 6. You will need to provide the Foreign Student Office with the following documents:
Original or certified copy of your high-school diploma (at least 12 years), translated into Italian, legalised and accompanied by the Statement of Equal Value issued by the Consulate.
For admission to a Second-Cycle Degree Programme you will also need to provide:
- Original or certified copy of your Degree Certificate translated into Italian, legalised and accompanied by the Statement of Equal Value issued by the Consulate.
- Original or certified copy of your academic transcript translated into Italian, legalised and accompanied by the Statement of Equal Value issued by the Consulate.
- Official study plan complete with the University logo accompanied by translation into Italian.
The Foreign Student Office will then assist you in completing your enrolment.
N.B. Non-EU students are required to pass an Italian language test as well as the admission test required for each different degree programme.
EU students, Non-EU Students living in Italy or in other EU-Countries or Italian Students with a foreign qualification.
You need to follow steps 2 through to 6, ignoring the first one.
You must pay a 35.00euro fee to sit the admission test. You can pay this by logging on to Infostud, printing the paying-slip and taking it to any Unicredit Bank branch for payment.
