Summer Schools

Sapienza offers foreign students a Summer School for Italian culture and language. Students from all over the world attend the Italian language and culture courses taught by well-known professors. The course aims to satisfy foreign students’ interest toward our country and culture, an interest which has progressively increased throughout the world.
Classes are held in the new setting of the former Vetreria Sciarra, a historical building that dates back to the 19th century. The classes focus on four different fields of study: Italian Culture: features and problems; Archaeological and Artistic Studies; Contemporary Italian Language and Literature; Cinema, Theatre and Music.

The school’s cultural programme includes guided tours of Rome’s main monuments and museums.
The Summer School course is taught entirely in Italian and provides students with a solid grasp of the language. It does not however provide students with any academic qualifications or pre-requisites which may be necessary for enrolment in some degree programmes at Sapienza University.
The deadline for enrolment in Summer School is usually by the end of May. For more detailed information, please visit the Summer School’s webpage.
